Vikings get set for Monday practice

August 17th, 2009 – 12:34 PM by Judd Zulgad

The Vikings will conduct a 1 p.m. practice today at Winter Park (these aren’t open to the public). Both Sidney Rice and Visanthe Shiancoe have tweeted that players will be in full pads so this should be interesting.

The Vikings went through a light, walk-through type workout on Sunday and will take this chance to get in a good practice as they get set for their second preseason game on Friday night against Kansas City at the Metrodome.

Main storylines today will be whether quarterback Sage Rosenfels (ankle) and/or wide receiver Bernard Berrian (hamstring) are able to practice. I can’t see Berrian being out there today and I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t play Friday against the Chiefs. Rosenfels, Berrian, tight end Garrett Mills and wide receiver Darius Reynaud all sat out Sunday’s practice.

One guy who should play on Friday is first-round pick Percy Harvin. The wide receiver sat out last Friday’s victory over Indianapolis as a precaution because of a shoulder injury suffered last Wednesday in practice.
