Gordon could miss entire season

July 27th, 2009 – 3:25 PM by Chip Scoggins

We had a chance to talk to cornerback Charles Gordon’s agent, Kenny Zuckerman, about his client who was released by the Vikings today.

Gordon was waived after he failed his physical. Gordon is trying to return from a horrible leg injury he suffered while returning a punt in late November. Gordon signed a one-year contract this offseason but he was unable to participate in OTAs or minicamp.

Gordon said this spring that had hoped to be ready for training camp, but Zuckerman said Gordon still runs with a limp. Zuckerman declined to speculate when Gordon might be ready to play again, but it’s reasonable to think he could miss the entire season while he continues his rehab.

The fact that the Vikings didn’t place Gordon on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list is an indication that they were concerned he would not be ready even by midseason.

“It’s a major, major injury,” Zuckerman said. “Can you come back and play 100 percent? Definitely, but it’s a time issue.”

Zuckerman said Gordon will continue his rehab in Los Angeles.

“It’s tough,” Zuckerman said. “He’s a very good football player who had a devastating injury. He was in a great position. He had found a great home, he played well, and then all of a sudden this happens. But he’s doing as well as he can be.”

With a name like Zuckerman, he has to be good…

Vick got the go-ahead, sort of.

Wonder who will sign him?
