Winfield signs contract extension
July 23rd, 2009 – 2:20 PM by Chip ScogginsAntoine Winfield has signed a contract extension. Judd is on the phone with Winfield as I type. He signed a five-year extension (they basically ripped up his final season).
Here’s the contract details from Judd: It’s a five-year contract worth $36 million, including $16.1 in guarantees and a few likely to be earned incentives that will push up the value the first few seasons. He is scheduled to make $6.1 million this season but with likely incentives he should make around $7.5 million.
“It actually happened at the perfect time,” Winfield said. “I was telling [agent] Ashanti Webb, ‘Let’s try and get something done before camp.’ I’m definitely glad to get it done and now will go in and play like I’ve been playing — 100 miles per hour and not have to worry.”

However, Mr. Zulgad, I think 3 years would have been sufficient, 5 is a bit much.
Oh well, I didn’t vividly explain that part to you, so I’ll take the blame on that.

For the third time as well..
Regarding the Mud’s Opinion Poll (MOP) question… In spite of the temptation to feel (b) and (c)… as a true fan of the Vike since day 1, I will respond a resounding (a).
My choice and opinion on the Favre matter is to simply wait and see what happens. That will keep my boxers right where they belong, feel best, and do the most good.

Asher Allen & Toine both got 4 year deals. The young’n gets four years of tutledge from the Master. Hope he learns something and becomes a Pro Bowler…sooner than Toine, but still becoming a Pro Bowler caliber player would be great!

Veteran Minnesota Vikings cornerback, and slightly attractive male – from what I hear – Antoine Winfield finally signed a contract extension in the form of five years and $36 Million total with about $16 Million in guaranteed money. Essentially, they ripped up his 2009 deal and simply signed him to a four year extension. These negotiations have been an ongoing battle of words and hurt feelings this offseason but it finally got done and Vikings fans can rejoice with convulsing orgasms. Since signing his original free agent contract with the Vikings in 2004, Winfield has been the only player on the team that hasn’t made me want to drive forks into my eyes. He’s actually played fantastic during his time here, earning every dollar of that original contract and has since become the face of this Vikings defense. Also, his absence during the infamous and now-redundant Love Boat scandal should be commended. Not to say he doesn’t rock the double sided dong at home, I just think it’s refreshing to see a football player not take that thing out in public … […]
