Some tickets appear to be available

July 14th, 2009 – 4:34 PM by Judd Zulgad

Reader and Access Vikings fan Justin G. alerted us to an interesting fact this morning when he sent an e-mail noting that single-game tickets for select Vikings regular-season games already were available through Ticketmaster.com.

That was interesting because we had been working under the assumption that single-game tickets wouldn’t go on sale until July 20, although that date has yet to be officially announced. Following up on Justin’s tip we went to the Ticketmaster site (via http://www.vikings.com/) and went through each game.

Sure enough we found it was possible that if we wanted we could use a credit card to purchase tickets to home games on Nov. 15 against Detroit; Nov. 22 against Seattle; Dec. 13 against Cincinnati; and Jan. 3 against the New York Giants. Tickets have yet to go on sale for these games: Sept. 27 against San Francisco; Oct. 5 against Green Bay; Oct. 18 against Baltimore; and Nov. 29 against Chicago.

Tickets for those games should be available starting on Monday, according to this link where it says “single-game tickets for most games for the 2009 season are tentatively scheduled to go on sale on July 20.”

As for how any of this fits into the grand scheme of Brett Favre potentially joining the Vikings we have no clue.

Steve LaCroix, the Vikings’ vice president of sales and marketing and chief marketing officer, said in an e-mail a formal release on exact timing and details of single-game ticket sales will be released in the coming days.

You’re holding out Judd. Spill it. Use the six degrees of Kevin Bacon thing on the Favre/ticket affair. I dare you.

Kevin Bacon was in Wild Things with Matt Dillon who was in Something about Mary with Brett Favre….

Come on now, give him a challenge.

Thanks, Judd! I might go to the Chicago game! Hey Judd! What’s up with T-Jack? ? ? I hear he’s not happy about something. Is he demanding a trade? ? ?

I didn’t want to start any rumors before now..But what if the Favre signing is being delayed..Because they want trade value for T Jack ??…With Favre coming..There will be to many roosters in the hen house..You might say..

Trade T-Jack for a stale dated bag of Lays Potato Chips and a flat Diet Pepsi.

If we could steal a 7th round pick for Troy Williamson…You never know what
T Jack might be worth ??….Talent is in the eye of the be-holder…No ~ I guess that was beauty…

Oh well ~ I still think we could get a case of Diet Pepsi for him..
If it was on sale ~ Buy one and get one free!!

Tomb -that link- I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time - just now starting to recover. Do newspaper people even think before they print? (no offense C & J, but really…)

So, to summarize,… in a press release today, the Vikings VP of S&M and CMO announced an upcoming press release, sometime in the days ahead, regarding the possible sale of individual game tickets for some games.

Well its good to finally have that settled.

Who the heck is this guy? I quit reading after his Vikings dribble. Totally clueless he is.

Found Viking says:

Coach, how can you tell the ocean is friendly?

It always “waves” at you.

Boom goes the dynamite.

Tomb needs to roll…later peepz.

Cripes I read about the guy in my link. He’s a voter for the NFL Hall of Fame? No wonder Cris Carter isn’t in there. Do the HOF voters have any real genuine football knowledge?

Yeah, I bought some tickets to the Seahawks game on the 10th. So, I was wondering where all the 20th talk was coming from.

Bones says:

July 14th, 2009 at 7:40 pm

Please tell me that T-Joke did not demand a trade. As much as I can’t stand the guy, I honestly don’t want him to make that big of a fool out of himself.

Fragile Fred Smoot says:

July 14th, 2009 at 7:58 pm

If he did demand a trade, the Vikes are still trying to figure out if they want a pack of Trident gum or a roll of Life Savers as return compensation.

You guys are mean.

B. Grant says:

I don’t like the new Vikings website. My print is gone. The baxters are phasing me out…

Bones says:

July 14th, 2009 at 8:17 pm

C’mon Bud, you’ve got to admit that the idea of him demanding a trade is ludicrous. If there is an ounce of truth to that rumor, he is making an ass out of himself. It’s like your old pal Bones trying to trade his ‘96
Bonneville in on a new F150 for $2500 to boot! Sorry, been car shopping this week…

B. Grant says:

July 14th, 2009 at 8:58 pm

Yeah, I gotta admit that Tjack’s trade equity is down there with passbook savings rates. I’m gonna bet (hope) there’s more to that story.

You might wanna keep that Bonneville, Bones. They literally don’t make them like that any more.

PFC {where all infant rumors grow to become full fledged B.S.} stated the possibility of perhaps Green Bay taking on T-Jack.

farside says:

July 14th, 2009 at 9:55 pm

OOps that should be PFT nor PFC. far be it from me to slander their credibility by calling them anything else that may be a legit sourse. Wasn’t focusing anyways, am still miffed bout the blog on Corey Stringers family suing the makers of his football equiptment.

kennyrogers says:

no, that’s OK, Fars. The Packers are kind of like private first classes.

a bunch of Gomer Piles.

kennyrogers says:

oops. Gomer Pyle. i wasn’t focusing either, but i kinda liked my first spelling.

B. Grant says:

July 14th, 2009 at 10:48 pm

OK - Let’s look at this another way and give Tjack a little slack. If Favre comes in, there’s going to be an odd man out. Tjack is perhaps saying, “Look, get what you can for me and let me get a fresh start somewhere else.” As much as he has been ripped here on the AV, a case can still be made that perhaps he has an NFL future (I know - some will think that to be ridiculous, but he has at least earned another look.) I’m sure he’s not saying it like a prima donna demand, just a request to go ahead with this thing so he has a better chance in another setting. So, maybe its not all that ridiculous for him to say that. I’m just sayin’…

Brent Farve says:

We need to keep T-Jack around to carry my huge ego.

‘Rice said he got pointers from Fitzgerald and Carter about route running and coming out of breaks.’

Read this several times wondering why Jerry Rice would be getting pointers from Larry Fitzgerald and Cris Carter.

Obviously, there’s more than one type of Rice.

That’s OK, Lost Viking. That’s cuz Carter is a better player than Jerry Rice. Lots of confusion about this because of Rice’s statistics and Super Bowl wins. But as B. Grant has pointed out on this board before, it takes eleven guys to make a team, and Rice had the far superior cast surrounding him. I mean, Joe Montana for cryin’ out loud! Who’d we have? Joe Wisconsin?
I’m glad to help clear this up.

B. Grant says:

July 15th, 2009 at 8:26 am

I’m still trying to determine just what exactly you cleared up, Kenny. But thanks for doing so.

Good morning everyone. We are one day closer to the Vikings winning their first Super Bowl!

Goal Line Blitzer says:

Judd,
I know this question is a few days late, but when Bevell went to visit Favre recently did he give him a playbook to study?

kennyrogers says:

July 15th, 2009 at 8:52 am

OK. I’ve created a lot of controversy this morning but this is my final answer. Cris Carter does Sportscenter and Inside the NFL. Jerry Rice does Dancing with the Stars and Hanes Underwear commercials.

You be the judge.

Jared Allen says:

nice article by Czarnecki posted by Found.

Prediction: Favre fails but Childress is bailed out by T-Jack?

Honestly, have these idiots ever actually WATCHED a Vikings game? T-Jack couldn’t bail out a soup bowl with a water pump.

Goal Line Blitzer says:

July 15th, 2009 at 9:17 am

I have to agree with Ibp’s comment yesterday at 5:45pm. If we can get a 7th round pick for Troy Williamson (and another 7th rounder for Erasmus James), we should get at least a 6th rounder for T-Jack

Hey Kenny R..Isn’t it Michael Jordan who does the Hanes underwear thing?
Charlie Sheen is always messin’ with him about his new look undies..
I think Rice just dances around like you stated.
