Adrian Peterson is one of five players who have received nominations for an ESPY award in the category of “Best NFL Player.” The Vikings running back is joined by Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald Jr., Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner, Steelers linebacker James Harrison and Colts quarterback Peyton Manning.
Peterson led the NFL in rushing last season with 1,760 yards on 363 carries. He also had 10 touchdowns.
Fans can vote for the award through July 11 by going to this website. The show will air at 8 p.m. on July 19 on ESPN.
The first of many to come. Atta boy AD.

I know what you mean…..sometimes I wanna scream at the computer system, “YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH!”
when my comments don’t make it through!
GO VIKES!!!!!
Peterson is freaking awesome. Next topic.
Too bad we can’t have Peterson and Fitz on the same team. Man that would be fun to watch.
[…] Minnesota’s own Purple Jesus has once again been nominated for “The Award that is as Relevant as an Adapter Powered Vibrator”, also known by self promoting chode chokers in Bristol, Connecticut as the “ESPY’s”. Ooooo! I bet Stuart Scott creams out of his glass eye every time he hears those four letters said out loud. This year, it’s for the “Best NFL Player”. I don’t know why they are doing nominations for this at all, as the answer here has been obvious ever since Purple Jesus’ draft day. Stupid bureaucratic red tape. […]
So, I click on the espn link to go vote for AD, it goes to their site and I’ve got my speakers turned up and here comes Samuel Jackson blaring something about the espys. Of course I’m at work, so everyone in the office now knows I’m on a sports site and not a spread sheet.
They also insist that I register before I can vote.
I hit the back button and find that espn has set their site up so the back button doesn’t work.
I now HATE espn and will never register to their site.
Krug,
That was the first time that had happened to me.
Hopefully it was just a glitch?
