Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams and defensive end Jared Allen earned praise from Rod Woodson of the NFL Network this week.
Woodson, a former standout defensive back who will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this summer, rated Williams the best current defensive tackle in the NFL and ranked Allen as the league’s No. 2 edge rusher behind Dallas’ DeMarcus Ware. Ware led the NFL with 20 sacks last season and Allen tied for fifth with 14.5.
By the way, the NFL Network also will be showing some Vikings-related content over the July 4th weekend. An episode of the network’s “Missing Rings” episode will feature the 1969 Vikings at 11 p.m. on Sunday. The “Missing Rings” story of the 1998 Vikings will air at 3 a.m. Monday.
Thanks Judd!
Darn…wish I had the NFL Network!

When I saw that Jared Allen was the #2 Edge Rusher, I just knew that Ray Edwards had to be #1…. then I opened the article and was appalled. This may be even a larger gaff then inflating the Clippers ranking on the Ultimate franchise list.
Clearly Rod Woodson is unaware of Ray Edwards world class ability.
It is about GD time Williams ranked ahead of Haynesworth.
Now I can enjoy the weekend just little bit more than I would have.
sports front seems quiet today. Is that a good thing?
The time is getting close. Favre and chilly want their own special day. Shack attack is lime light today. What’s tommorrow? #4 signing maybe? Kfan radio had big Bob Lurtsama on and he said from a very reliable source that Favre purchased home in Bearpaw or what ever its called in Eden Prairie.
Those NFL Network boys best be nice to my ‘69 Vikes, or there’ll be some huntin’ licenses revoked around there (if you know what I mean). If I hear that Hank Stram laugh one more time, we’ll be needin’ a new mirror in the Grant basement bathroom.
Yup, looks like its almost circus time at Winter Park.
Yep bring in the clowns hopefully we juggle to the big top
Figuring Out The Favre Timetable
Posted by Tom Curran on July 2, 2009 5:22 PM
“If” is dead. “When” still remains. So, at Monsignor Florio’s behest, we engaged in a little Thursday afternoon dot-connecting to suss out when the inevitable Brett Favre unveiling will take place up in Minnesota.
First, head coach Brad Childress needs to be in the house. He returned from his Alaskan fishing vacation on Monday.
Second, Chilly probably would prefer to have full focus on the blessed event so he’d no doubt prefer to wait on Favre until after the July 11 wedding of his daughter, Cara. [Editor’s note: We assume she didn’t get her father’s hair.]
Next, the Vikings want to be able to get maximum bang at the box office out of any Favre announcement so they’d want to present him after they begin selling single-game tickets for the season.
We (read: Florio) [Editor’s note: douche] was under the impression those tickets were scheduled to go on sale July 9. In reality, the Vikings today told us they go on sale July 20.
So block off the week of July 13 through 17 as the best guess for when Favre gets announced. And plan on wearing something nice.
PFT
Thanks, Krug.
I’m thinking maybe a light silk/cotton blend…in black

MY NAME IS TORGO AND I TAKE CARE OF THE PLACE WHILE THE MASTER IS AWAY
Still feels like the calm before the storm to me…Its been quiet all week..I would think the best way not to have the signing of Brett interfere with his daughters wedding…Would be to have it over and done with ??…Then he could just focus on the special day…
I’m pressing my suit and tie for tomorrow thru Monday…Just in case..: )
Lost…….lmao…….

I would think they would want as much time as possible to sell jerseys. Then they (Wilfs) can start getting revenue back. Announce so jerseys can be made tickets planned for with the economy people will need to save to by tickets before they go on sale. They can announce hold press conference next week. Get it done childress so we can truly celibrate the 4th.

What a great ticket resource. Found last minute tickets to Nemo on Ice and they were sold out! Great alternative to nasty old Ticketmaster! I think they sell concerts and sports tickets too.
