Sorry so slow posting this, but Judd and I had a meeting off-site and not near our computers.
Anyway, the Vikings announced that they have signed seventh-round pick Jamarca Sanford, a safety from Ole Miss. Terms were not immediately known.
Sanford is the team’s first 2009 draft pick to sign a contract. The Vikings have four more draft picks to sign — Percy Harvin, Phil Loadholt, Asher Allen and Jasper Brinkley.
Update: Sanford’s contract is a four-year deal. In order to make the roster, he’s going to have to prove himself on special teams. It would not be surprising if Sanford ends up spending a season on the Vikings’ practice squad.
Join Vikings beat writers Judd Zulgad and Chip Scoggins on a usually informative and often irreverent journey inside the Vikings.
Just like the NFL, Zulgad and Scoggins go at it all year long -- on and off the field.
