Childress has high praise for Harvin

June 17th, 2009 – 8:37 PM by Chip Scoggins

Brad Childress had a funny exchange with a fan in the audience when Paul Allen asked him about what his initial impression of rookie Percy Harvin was this offseason.

A fan yelled “Kick-ass offense.” Childress responded, “Wait and see.”

Childress then talked about Harvin’s talent.

“I think the first thing I thought about was really the same feelings the first time we handed Adrian Peterson the ball,” Childress said. “It was with 50 rookies that we bring in right after the draft. When you see it with your own eyes … the thing that came to mind right away was, Wow.”

That’s what I said when I heard Childress is going fishing with Andy Reid, the coach of the team that kicked our ass in the playoffs.

Wow, what a traitor.

If only Chili can teach Harvin the art of catching KO’s with one foot out of bounds, instead of catching the KO and then putting one foot out of bounds. It may not be a KAO, but somebody’s shin might be getting sore.

As for Chili fishing with Reid, I’m sure Chili is just laying the groundwork to get McNabb when he turns 40. By then Favre’s seventh or eight fake retirement might have worn thin.

If they brought along Smooter, it could have been a Love Boat - that’s an image that’s burned my brain.

whats wrong with a couple of buddies going fishing? We don’t play the Eagles every year. Its not like Chili is going up there with Mike McCarthy or Lovie Smith.

Good lord, did I just defend Chili? I think I need to go take a shower, I feel dirty. :(

No, that’s OK, Jared. But put yourself in their place for a minute. Did Matt Schaub ask you to go fishing after you tossed him around like a rag doll last season-NO! ! ! Do you think Bud Grant and John Madden got together and played video games after Super Bowl Eleven-NO! ! !
They didn’t have Madden ‘09 back then, maybe PONG or something, but you get my drift.
