Favre: I’m considering playing

June 15th, 2009 – 8:23 PM by Chip Scoggins

Asked by Joe buck if he’s considering playing next year, Brett Favre said “Maybe” and smiled.

“I am considering it,” he said.

“It makes perfect sense as far as coming back because I ran that offense for 16 years,” he said. “I can teach the offense.”

Favre said he had surgery two and a half weeks ago and has talked to Vikings officials throughout the process. He said everything comes down to whether his arm fully heals.

“If it’s not up to par when the time comes, then you can’t play,” he said.

Favre said the Vikings did not put a deadline on him but that Vikings coach Brad Childress asked him to take part in OTAs.

To me, the most interesting comment from Favre came when talking about offense. He said the “pieces are in place” and finished the quote by saying “we could be pretty good.”

Favre opened the interview by saying “I know people are tired of it. My intentions are not — although it’s good for you — to create controversy. It is what it is.”

Favre said Dr. James Andrews told him he should know in 4 to 5 weeks whether the surgery was completely successful. Favre said he is throwing now.

Favre said Vikings trainer Eric Sugarman [he didn’t mention him by name] visited him yesterday to discuss stretching exercises.

Favre also said that his arm still hurts when making some throws.

Please just say “I retires”. Freds does not want Brent playing for his favorite team.

I’m glad the interview is over. 25 minutes of Joe Buck is more than I prefer to see. As far as a talk show host goes, he is pretty lame. He has Ochocinco on now. I changed the channel as soon as I heard that he was the next guest.
