Vikings to work out Favre
June 12th, 2009 – 1:24 PM by Chip ScogginsESPN is reporting that a member of the Vikings coaching staff and a trainer will travel to Mississippi to work out Brett Favre in the next few days. It does not cite its sources or which coach will conduct the workout.
It seems likely that the coaching representative could be offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, who has a close relationship with Favre, dating to their time together in Green Bay. The team’s head athletic trainer is Eric Sugarman.
Vikings coach Brad Childress acknowledged that the team wants to see Favre throw to see how much his right arm has healed after having arthroscopic surgery to repair a partially torn biceps tendon. Childress declined to speculate when that might happen during his press conference on Thursday.
This is just the latest indication that Favre’s signing appears inevitable assuming his arm fully recovers. The Vikings held their final OTA workout on Friday and do not report to training camp until July 29.

Juggernaut of false reporting that they are.
It still seems early to be judging his throwing..maybe checking progress or for further injury other than the one ligament…
kind of strange no reporter is given credit…methinks its werder and that same anonymous source…cant look bad reporting something so different so quickly

I heard on sirius nfl radio it was John Clayton.
Maybe they should throw out a preemptive “we stand behind our reporting and the Vikings are stupid poo-poo heads” report, so as to allay the need for it later.

Hey, this is legitimate (no bull….). In this case, the “source” is Childress. You just have to be “creative” enough to analyze his press conf. and come up with this kind of breaking news.

PPress reports ~ B Cook said to a radio station he thinks “Favre’s arm should be fine”…But he is not sure if the “motivation to play” is there ??
Favre is coming…The operation is motivation enough for me to believe he wants to play this year…
In a related note, temperatures in hell are at a record low, expecting to reach it’s lowest point sometime in next few weeks.
Assuming they bring Favre in to destroy team chemistry oops I meant to lead the Vikes to the Super Bowl can one then assume that anything short of the Super Bowl will mark the end of the Chili era? If so it’s win - win.
Anyone concerned that they a peaking too soon? I thought the grand plan was to win the SB at the end of the 2011 season, then the whole team would say in unison “We’re going to Disneyland” as the moving trucks were simultaneously leaving Winter Park. Upon which time the Gov and all the legislators who voted against the new stadium would also be leaving, chased by peasants with pitchforks.

C’mon, Scoggins: How long you gonna stay as a ‘cub’ reporter & lapog for ExtraSensoryPinnochioNose network? Can’t you come up with your own rumors?
Have you noticed Brett is in New York to be LIVE in the studio with Joe Buck on Bucks’ HBO show tonight (Monday 6/15/09)? You think the Vikings sent a couple guys to Miss just for the weekend PLUS it being the weekend Favres’ old school is in a baseball tournament? Did you know Brett played on his varsity H.S. baseball team as an 8th grader & earned 5 varisty letters in H.S?
You actually think 2 or 3 weeks is long enough to start messing around with a throwing arm after any kind of mending surgery? You want to risk a cannon arm by telling a guy like Favre he has to show us a little arm at this stage? Get real! When does training camp start? When was Brett thrown into the breach at NY?
You two guys are a real waste. Have you bothered to talk to Ryan Longwell & ask his opinion on whether he thinks Favre is a “team” player? Is Favre likely to accept an insult offer from Wifli about “incentives? You know anybody, ever, in ANY SPORT with a history of more incentive than Brett Favre? You guys are really pathetic.
