Chip and I noted Thursday that wide receiver Sidney Rice looked impressive during the one day of access the media had this week to the Vikings’ organized team activities. Rice, who looks like he has been spending plenty of time in the weight room, made at least two nice catches.
Evidently, Rice was sharp again on Friday. Although the media wasn’t allowed to watch, Mike Wobschall of the Vikings website (www.vikings.com) reported that Rice made a handful of acrobatic catches.
Meanwhile, first-round pick Percy Harvin again was lining up at a variety of positions. It was clear watching Harvin work on Thursday that he is one of the best athletes on the field right now. (Keep in mind many veterans aren’t present.)
Sage Rosenfels had a pass intercepted by safety Madieu Williams during 7-on-7 drills but he also had touchdown passes to Jeff Dugan and Nick Walker. Here’s Wobschall’s complete report, leading with a tidbit on safeties Williams and Tyrell Johnson getting used to working with each other.

That’s a “response”?
That’s not a response!
A response is Matt Jones’ comment on the last blog. Check it out for a good laugh.
Good to hear. Hopefully Rice can take that next step this year.
I’m also excited to see Johnson and Williams at Safety this year. I think we will see some increased athleticism in the secondary this year.
On another note, I was just in a discussion with a Packer fan on Harvin’s receiving abilities. He said that Harvin has a tendancy to catch the ball against his body. With the Vikings.com blog post, I have the evidence I need to prove him wrong.
Excited about Harvin. He is more polished than people give him credit for.
