A question of camp coverage

May 3rd, 2009 – 5:40 PM by Judd Zulgad

Some of the posts on the previous blog had a very good point about the Vikings’ rookie minicamp this weekend and why we didn’t provide more updates. The answer is because we had only one day of access — and only got to watch a small portion of drills — on Friday. The camp was closed to the media on Saturday and Sunday.

Thus, it would be very difficult to tell you how the drafts picks or free agents in attendance looked. The Vikings are within their rights to close these sessions but my understanding is the Bears, Lions and Packers had media access all three days.

Honestly, we would have embraced the opportunity to provide you with information but only being able to watch individual drills on Friday meant it simply wasn’t possible.
