The Arizona Cardinals decision to shop disgruntled wide receiver Anquan Boldin has caused speculation that the Vikings might be interested. This is a logical conclusion given that the Vikings are known to be looking to upgrade at the wide receiver spot and pursued free-agent T.J. Houshmandzadeh before he elected to go to Seattle.
However, don’t expect the Vikings to make a big draft-week trade for Boldin like they did last season when they sent a first- and two third-round picks to Kansas City for Pro Bowl defensive end Jared Allen. Indications are that the Cardinals’ asking price of a first- and third-round pick is simply too high for many teams, including the Vikings. ESPN reports the team that acquires Boldin will have to give him $8 to $9 million per season.
The Baltimore Sun reports that the Ravens are among the teams interested in Boldin. That list (per ESPN) also could include the Eagles, Giants and Jets.
