Strong turnout at workouts

April 10th, 2009 – 7:20 PM by Chip Scoggins

The Vikings had nearly 95 percent attendance for the first week of their offseason conditioning program, and three players who are not present have very good reasons.

Cornerback Cedric Griffin, fullback Naufahu Tahi and defensive end Kenechi Udeze are all attending school in an effort to further their education.

Udeze, who is attempting to return after missing last season while he battled acute lymphoblastic leukemia, has been attending classes and working out at Southern California. He has said he plans to take part in practices that will be part of the Vikings Organized Team Activities starting next month.

Griffin is a multi-millionaire now, what does he need a degree for? Tofu is only a one millionaire but he needs to be in camp.

Spielman was talking about the draft and
this part is interesting:
“background checking can clear up information on a player who might have a bad reputation but is actually worth taking.” They must not have done that with Cutler. But too many draft choices were needed anyway. And they would have wanted our starting QB…..oh wait…..

Can we get another update about Kenechi? Like how much he weighs, if he has his strength back etc. I’m excited for him and his recovery, but I want to know if this guy is going to be a real player for us.

Has Udeze ever been a REAL player for us? Seems he more fits the role of a backup DE than anything else.

FIRE CHILDRESS NOW !!!!!!!!!!

Udeze, starting DE, went without a qb sack a couple years ago.
C. Griffin, going to school to learn how to fight the wr, for the football, and get more then three interceptions in his career.
In reality, neither of the above belongs in the NFL.
Both failed draft picks by the vikes.
