Birk will make decision by Thursday

The St. Paul native said tonight that he plans to make a decision about his future by Thursday. Birk and his wife, Adrianna, traveled to Baltimore today and the six-time Pro Bowl center spent the day meeting with Ravens executives and coaches. The Vikings already have an offer on the table to Birk and the Ravens are likely to counter with a contract proposal of their own on Wednesday before Birk travels back to the Twin Cities. It’s likely the two offers will be competitive and this might come down to the situation in which Birk feels most comfortable.
Birk, 32, had dinner with Ravens coach John Harbaugh tonight and will undergo a physical Wednesday. The Cretin-Derham Hall graduate admitted that visiting another NFL team after having been with the Vikings since 1998, “was very strange at first,” adding “it was weird. I was like a little nervous coming here.”
But Birk clearly liked what he saw and heard from the Ravens. “It was very impressive,” he said from his hotel in the Baltimore area. “The facilities are out of sight and the coaching staff, from Coach Harbaugh on down, seemed like a good bunch.” Birk called the Ravens’ interest “genuine” and “very flattering.”
“My wife and I will make a decision that is best for our family,” Birk said. “Absolutely, it will be a difficult decision.” The Birks have three daughters and a son.
Sharper update: The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that safety Darren Sharper completed his visit with the Saints on Tuesday and returned home. The Times-Picayune cites a source as saying the visit went well and there appears a chance Sharper ends up in New Orleans. The Saints also are staying in contact with free-agent safety Gerald Sensabaugh, who recently paid a visit.

It took two years to pay PW what he was worth.
Jackson is one of the worst QB’s in the league, the rest of the WR’s are 2nd rate (at best), the linebackers are 2nd tier (pay wise) and the right side of the OL is horrible.
I would be impressed with a good wr and a tackle.
