The Vikings have waived Gus Frerotte, who was their starting quarterback for 11 games last season. The move was expected after the addition of Sage Rosenfels.
We’ll have more in a bit.
I guess this is our stop. Everyone off the Gus Bus.
They should have done this last week. I could have given him a free ride to St Louis.
Wheres the link for the presser???? I want to see this fiasco for myself.
Well Gus, I’ll just have to tell you what once told an ex-girlfriend…It was real, It was fun…Now get the hell out……….. Just kidding.. I wish you well hopefully you can find a starting job somewhere… I really wish you could have led the team into the playoffs…..
Gus is leaving on a jet plane, don’t know when he will be back again…..
Go Vikes
I miss Kevin.

Kevin never went at it on and off the field with Judd the way Chip does.
Geeze what a boring FA opening day.
I almost wish Favre would unretire so we could talk about it.
Spam is stupid…

If it gets any more boring, I may wax my eyebrows to match Rex Grossman.

That’s a good look…
cliff, you can stay.
Go Vikes
Tomb,
Man you ARE desperate!
FAVRAY??
Please! (That means no)
Grossman has eyebrows? I thought he was a lizard man from the planet Incompletia…..
Dude, we get it…
I wish I could be so completely committed to a statement, that I post it six times.
I don’t have that level of confidence.
Fran, I heard that if you stand in front of a mirror and repeat “Favre” three times, your prescription drugs will go missing.
Vrabel gone from the Pats to Chiefs.
Sorry I was humming that catchy chil-itune then that whole jet plane comment got stuck in my head
Don’t worry I know my sense of humor is broke…..
Don’t feel bad, my ass is cracked.
It got laid off last week………
Ba dum .. bum
I saw Corell Buckhalter signed with Denver. With Westbrook being fragile, perhaps there is a chance to send Taylor and something to Philly in return for McNabb. Bring Albert Young up off the practice squad and draft another RB in the later rounds of the draft…
Torgo = Dorko
If I was Mr. Wilf, I would spend as little as possible on FA.
Why should he spend money, we you (the residents of the State of Minnesota) are making is clear to him that you will not support a new stadium.
Mr. Wilf deserve a return on his investment.
“If you build it, they will come” is a fantasy in a baseball movie. It will not work with the political knuckleheads in St. Paul
It’s always good to have someone who can speak intelligible English at the quarterback position…
Have the Vikings even tried setting up a Visit with Houshmanzada……….. Or however its spelled..

It’s a little early for March Madness, so you know we’re not talking about free-agent wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh’s NCAA tourney picks.
According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Houshmandzadeh said in an ESPN interview that there are four teams he would most like to play for, and they’re all in the NFC: Eagles, Giants, Seahawks and Vikings. He also made his intentions clear to have a deal done with one of those teams before the end of the weekend.
Expect Philadelphia to win out. It’s the best fit for him, scheme- and role-wise, and it also satisfies his desire to play for a contender.

I would love to have Brian Dawkins on this team.
Looks like Denver is making a lot of moves…
what a wonderful time of the NFL year…
everyone becomes an expert…………..
even what’s his name (______________)!
And what about this Ephraim Salaam character? Can he play RT?
Better than sitting around while the Vikings do nothing krugjr…at least it gets some interesting talks going.
TJ…TJ…TJ. Anyone know how his visit is going in Seattle. Hopefully he gets to Minny available.
[…] From Judd Zulgad of The Minneapolis Star Tribune: […]
[…] The Sage Rosenfels trade spelled the end of the road for Gus Frerotte as a Viking. This afternoon, the team made it official by waiving the veteran QB, just days before they were to owe him a $250,000 roster bonus. Frerotte had expressed his desire to remain with the team, but only if he was given a chance to start. That never seemed very realistic however, with the other options available in trade and free agency. […]
Well gus, the fact is we would not be the nfc north Champs without you. For all your flaws, you got us to the playoffs still. Thank you.
