Report: Frazier a candidate for Jets job

January 1st, 2009 – 10:53 PM by Judd Zulgad

Add the New York Jets to the list of teams interested in Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier.

Already scheduled to speak to the Detroit Lions next week about their head coaching job, Frazier also could land an interview with the Jets. The Newark Star-Ledger reports that Frazier is among the candidates being considered. The main focus of the story is that the Jets plan to contact recently fired Denver coach Mike Shanahan. The Jets will begin the interviewing process Friday by talking to internal candidates Brian Schottenheimer and Bill Callahan.

Vikings coach Brad Childress said today that the Lions are the only team to have called to ask permission to speak to Frazier. Frazier, however, also is believed to be on the St. Louis Rams’ radar.

Good luck to Frazier. I hope he gets the big bucks.

Any news on Shanahan? I’m making a prediction that Jerry “I’m sticking with Wade Phillips” Jones will be trying to drag him to cowgirl land.

Sixth!
I think it’s bull ish that our coordinators can even be approached right now. He needs to focus on the task at hand now, not imagining next year’s head job. Wait til we’re done. It’s tough enough to win without thinking coaches are bailing out on you. Beat the buzzards.
Go Vikes!!

Pressure may determine how effective McNabb will be on Sunday. Couple of weeks ago I would have said D-line would have no difficulty against Eagle but less sure today. Edwards will be missed and interior line looked tentative last Sunday.

Eagle O-line has firmed up after so so start. Need a strong push to establish D line dominance from the start

Man it’s taking a long time for Sunday to get here.

If the Eagles Offense doesn’t put up 24 points against our D I will be impressed by Frazier, for a while anyway.

Whats going on Sunday? J.ay, you and kaput have a date? :)

I wish they’d let Frazier run the offense at least the last 2 minutes of each half.

And that was supposed to be funny Stiff Arm?

Chilli’s great abilities in the last 2 minutes of the half combined with the mentally challenged TJoke spells disaster.

No j.ay, that 8:50 post was sincere as hell.

Then you can sincerly go fuk yourself.

I sincerely want Jared Allen to go all Silence of the Lambs on McNabb.

Sack him, then throw him in a well, and make him “rub the lotion on its skin.”

Is that wrong?

If wanting that is wrong, I don’t wanna be right.

How can Frazier be scheduled to meet with Detroit next week? Thought that the league rules did not allow any interviews of coaches until the playoff run for that team is over. Do others know something that the rest of us do not?

Are you bored without fantasy football? Check out this football simulation game. You can create players and manage their careers, or become a coach, coordinator, or GM of a team. A new season has just started, so now is a good time to try it out for free…. after you go buy your Vikings tickets, of course. :)
