Allen listed as doubtful

November 7th, 2008 – 2:11 PM by Chip Scoggins

Defensive end Jared Allen is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Green Back Packers. Allen was able to do some work in practice Friday.

“Just out there trying to see where I’m out,” he said. “Nothing has really changed as far as my status to me. We’ll find out more tomorrow. I’ll talk to [head athletic trainer Eric Sugarman and coach Brad Childress] and they will give me their opinion and I’ll give them mine and we’ll see where we’re at.”

Allen suffered a third-degree sprain in his right shoulder last week. He missed two consecutive days of practice and did only light work on Friday.

“I still have today and tomorrow to push forward,” Allen said.

Allen also acknowledged that he was fined by the NFL for his hit on Texans quarterback Matt Schaub but he declined to answer any questions about it until after his appeal. We have calls into the league to determine the amount of his fine.
