Thomas Tapeh’s name plate is off his locker. And his locker is empty.
We’ll take that to mean he’s no longer a member of the Vikings. When locker room access ends, we’ll update.
And now for the update: We really don’t know much more about the Tapeh situation other than the fact it’s clear some sort of settlement was reached and the fullback is no longer with the team. Offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said during his weekly news conference today that he didn’t know anything about Tapeh’s situation. The wheels were put in motion for this situation when Tapeh failed to inform the Vikings that he had a “procedure” performed on his knee before he signed with them as a free agent.
Tapeh’s agent, Craig Domann, has failed to return several phone messages and e-mails left for him.
We’ve also confirmed that linebacker Napoleon Harris is in the building at Winter Park but he did not come into the locker room during the media access period. Hopefully, we’ll get a chance to talk to Harris later in the day. Check back for updates.
