Pennington not part of the plan

While Chad Pennington’s agent said a half-dozen teams have contacted him about the recently-released quarterback, the Vikings are not believed to be one of those clubs. Pennington was released by the Jets on Thursday after the team acquired Brett Favre.

It has been speculated Pennington would be a good fit for the Vikings but at this point it appears the Vikings are committed to going with Tarvaris Jackson, Gus Frerotte and either John David Booty or Brooks Bollinger.

Also, check out this story in the Los Angeles Times. Favre, talking about having wanted to play for the Vikings said: “Maybe that was vindictive, competitive. In the end that was probably the wrong motive.”
