Frerotte signs; update on preseason schedule
April 8th, 2008 – 3:24 PM by Judd ZulgadThe Vikings officially announced today that veteran quarterback Gus Frerotte has signed with the team. An agreement was reached several days ago. Frerotte played for the Vikings in 2003-04 and has started 82 career games.
Frerotte, who will serve as the backup to Tarvaris Jackson, has started 82 career games, including two with the Vikings in 2003. He spent the past two seasons with the St. Louis Rams.
Frerotte recently talked to our own Sid Hartman about being teammates with Jackson. “I’ve got to see what type of person he is, what kind of kid he is and all that stuff,” Frerotte said. “I heard, from talking with other people, he’s a really good guy. So, it will be fun. It will be interesting to do it.”
The Vikings also have finalized their preseason schedule. Here it is:
Friday, Aug. 8: vs. Seattle, 7 p.m., KSTP (Ch. 5)
Saturday, Aug. 16: at Baltimore, 6:30 p.m. (Ch. 5)
Saturday, Aug. 23: vs. Pittsburgh, 7 p.m. (CBS)
Thursday, Aug. 28: at Dallas, 7 p.m. (Ch. 5).

Sometimes I wonder why I come on here and try to talk football with a bunch of chilish wanna be comedians. I am head and shoulders above all of you when it comes to knowing football and for that matter all things in general. Quite frankly I am as close to the perfect American as one can get.
