Hicks’ visit; too late on LaBoy

March 3rd, 2008 – 7:09 PM by Judd Zulgad

San Francisco running back and return man Maurice Hicks was scheduled to have dinner with Vikings executives tonight and contract talks between the sides are ongoing. This comes after Hicks spent the day visiting Winter Park. With Mewelde Moore signing with the Steelers today, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Vikings work out something with Hicks. If Hicks does not sign with Minnesota, he is scheduled to visit the Houston Texans on Wednesday.

Following up on the item about Tennessee defensive end Travis LaBoy — and whether the Vikings had an interest in him — it turns out the Vikings placed a call to check on LaBoy’s availability today. But by that point LaBoy had agreed to a deal to play for the Arizona Cardinals.
