About to head into the 3 p.m. news conference where fullback Thomas Tapeh, and perhaps safety Madieu Williams, will be introduced as the newest members of the Minnesota Vikings. Right now, it’s scheduled to be Brad Childress and Tapeh at the presser. That could be because Vikings vice president of player personnel Rick Spielman is meeting with free-agent receiver Bernard Berrian and his representatives. It’s not 100 percent clear if Berrian is at Winter Park yet but that seems like a good possibility.
Meanwhile, the Vikings are still hoping to bring in Cincinnati free agent defensive end Justin Smith on Saturday. Smith’s first stop was today with the San Francisco 49ers and some think that organization will do everything in its power to make sure he signs.
We’ll have reaction from the press conference so check back.
