Running back Adrian Peterson had a follow-up MRI today that showed “excellent healing” of the slightly torn lateral collateral ligament he suffered Nov. 11 against Green Bay. Peterson is expected to practice this week and if all goes well he will play Sunday against Detroit.
“He’ll have to do all the things he needs to do during practice to prepare himself for this week,” Childress said.
Asked about how Peterson might be used upon his return, Childress said: “I would say we’ll ease him back in. You’re not going to go back there and turn over the whole load to him. Those guys [Chester Taylor and Peterson] have been good playing off each other. There are conditioning factors involved, there’s fatiguing factors involved when you get involved in playing a 65 or 70 play game. We’ll have a pulse on how he practices and who gets what.”
Childress downplayed the importance of whether Peterson or Taylor starts because, “it can change on second down.”
Other injury news:
– Safety Tank Williams has a mild sprain of the MCL. “We’ll just see,” Childress said. “Those things have gone from a day, with a guy like a Tony Richardson, to a couple of weeks. We’ll just see how he comes back from his.” Williams was hurt playing on special teams.
– Receiver Troy Williamson, who suffered a head injury in the third quarter Sunday against the Giants, underwent impact and excercise tests that both provided encouraging results. “He should be OK,” Childress said.
– Cornerback Antoine Winfield “is progressing,” according to Childress. Winfield is considered day-to-day.
– Fullback Tony Richardson came out of Sunday’s game fine after wearing a brace on his injured knee.
Ticket update: The Vikings might be in the hunt for a playoff spot but that doesn’t mean all of their ticket-selling issues have gone away. As of this morning, 3,600 tickets remained for Sunday’s game against the Lions. That’s the same range as the team found itself on the Monday befor its last home contest against the Raiders on Nov. 18.
You’re probably getting tired of hearing/seeing this one but Sunday’s game needs to be soldout by noon Thursday for it to air locally on Fox (Ch. 9). The Vikings have received corporate assistance three times this season in order to reach a sellout and therefore keep alive their 10-year streak of having no blackouts.

Was that Peyton/Eli’s mom that was waving behind Peyton in the luxury box at the game Sunday?
I wonder if she has an arm….
She was waving it wasn’t she? The answer is yes!
Maybe Troy’s head injury will cure his double vision…..
doctor, doctor give me a clue I’ve got a base case of “Tampa 2″?

Chili’s Play of the Day: the long run by Zyg.
… did you get a gongussion?
Viking John, it’s the season of giving. We should give them a loss.
… that’s too bad. Zygi shouldn’t eat from those sidewalk vendors …
Okay, off for a air filter. No, not a hat.
The one weekend each season where I don’t mind being considered in the Detroit TV market…go Vikes!
… here’s some fodder on which to chew. I’m looking at the Vikings being 5-6. If they had lost to SD and NYG and beaten KC and Philly, they’d have the same record, but I’d feel somehow better about my club because they would have beaten the teams they “should have” and lost to the teams they “should have”.
But because they flipped those around, I’m confused. Were they underachieving? Are they now overachieving? Are they peaking at the right time? Are they just catching teams at the right time? Are they catching onto Chili’s system?
RTG = cornfused
they overachieve at underachieving and underachieve at overachieving
FIRE CHILDRESS NOW!!!!!
No cyber shopping today. Cyber selling today.
Rtg, Lot depends on opposing qb. Good qb can shred vikings pass defense. Have seen it happen to many times this season.
Is Kitna considered a good QB? He didn’t shred the pass D, but he did beat us.
…then JT O’Sullivan did shred us and I don’t consider him a good QB, 13-23 148.
Vikings = inconsistent. There. I said it.
ben = good point. We are the worst against the pass. And, we have the worst passing attack.
Question: is our O-Line pass blocking better?
yes, but Jeff cured Kitna’s concussion and allowed him to return to the game last time to lead the kitties to victory.
Was also the game when Pop Tart did his Eli Manning impersonation and then hurt his groin…
King, you need to turn that into an optimistic positive. I know you can do it!
but at least they’re consistent at it King…
FIRE CHILDRESS NOW!!!
I like Bald Eagles. And the Philadelphia Eagles.
RTG:
San Diego is not good. Norv Turner has ruined them. Add to that a record breaking day by Adrian Peterson and a horrible performance by Philip Rivers and you get that SD Victory.
Yesterday’s win is due in large part to Eli Manning melting down. However, credit is due to the new look blitzes for creating pressure, to the Dbacks (and Greenway) for making the picks and turning them into points and to the offense for putting together that 8 plus minute, demoralizing drive in the third quarter.
I’ve been quick to rag on Childress. But now it looks like he won’t be going anywhere any time soon so I’m going to try to get over it. I really dislike the guy and I still don’t believe he has what it takes but I’m going to try to tone it down — at least for awhile.
My new goal for the season is to get one of those wildcard spots and knock the pukers out of the playoffs. I don’t think the Vikes are, in reality, a playoff team. But when you look at the numbers, I guess they’ve got as good a shot as anyone at getting that last Wild Card spot.
sounds like Sean Taylor is in really bad shape. they said he lost alot of blood and is “clinging to life”. Has also possibly suffered brain damage due to the loss of blood.
RTG, IMO, it depends on the opposition.
I watched a rookie wr, from GB, make a fool out of Griffin. Our offensesive line seems to be playing better. T-Jax, was smart enough to get rid of the ball faster, Sunday which helped make the OF line look better.
I liked how we showed the blitz and then dropped back into coverage. Seemed to have confused poor Eli.
Sharpstein said Taylor’s girlfriend told him the couple was awakened by loud noises, and Taylor grabbed a machete he keeps in the bedroom for protection.
A machete???!!! Seriously, there is your first clue something is not right…
unfortunately, the Vikes would have to win a wildcard game in order to get the rematch w/ the Pukers. Green Bay will be either the #1 or #2 seed (most likely depending on thurday’s outcome) and will have a 1st round bye. They’d end up playing either the NFC West or South division Champ.
Going to be a one day Dallas fan, this Thursday.
Never bring a knife to a gun fight.
Live by the sword and die by it or a gun.
Slow day…
What did he keep nunchucks too?
AJ Feeley’s performance last night may help in pushing McNabb out of Philly.
Should Vikes go after him? I think so. He’s not my ideal choice but there’s not a lot of talent out there. I think he and TJack could co-exist even though it would technically mean a step back for TJack.
kitna did shred us up while he was in..o’sullivan was awful…so bad they decided kitna’s concussion was cured after only 2 quarters…and a concussion riddled kitna returned and commenced to shredding our “pass defense”. Tarvaris was especially awful that game..and yet had Longwell not shanked a makeable field goal at the end we still would have won….
Nope. Smoke bombs.
… T-Jack could use some time and room to grow. Not that I’m a huge McRib guy …
McNabb would be an upgrade over T-Jack, but he’s not my first choice. (probably not even 2nd choice)
The rest of the season and training camp should do.
Chinese stars?
Feeley plus drafting Kolb in the first round = McNabb out…but i don’t believe his contract is up…he would have to be traded…so now you have to wonder is an older beat up McNabb worth Philly’s asking price…most likely high draft pick/s..
A lot of people also thought we should have went after Carr. Look at him now.
ginsu knives?
… Taylor also had some Snaps to throw at their feet …
and loogies
we already gave Philly our 6th rounder for Holcomb. How about we give Holcomb back and they can keep the 6th rounder for McNabb???

too bad about Kevin Dubrow.
I met him about 10 years ago at a bar that Quiet Riot was playing at. He stopped and talked to my uncle and I for over an hour and seemed like a pretty nice guy despite all the rantings from their hey-days.
It was kind of funny - helping him load up his U-Haul only a few years removed from when they were selling out stadiums.
Packers will not be fined or punished for bounties. If some team had a bounty on favre, now that would cause a ruckess. Green Bay has seperate rules than other NFL team.

Cedric Benson placed on IR - season over…meaning Adrian Peterson Jr will start for the Bears….that Jones deal not looking so good for the Bears these days.
Listening to Buffalo NY radio station thru the web
sure seems like JP LOSMAN is gonna get ousted in Buffalo .. maybe a 4th round pick could scoop him up.
any thoughts ? worth it ?
Well, he wouldn’t be getting ousted for stellar play and exceeding expectations…we already dumped a pick on a crap backup with no future.
I believe !!!
I have watched LOSMAN in many games ,, decent player, good sscrambler, can find the open guy.
In a franchise with a losing coach, poor gameplans, no playmakers etc ..
always a tough call ..
you can fly?
you touch the sky?
I think I’ve seen this show before. Vikings play is up and down all season. I get excited, then angry, then excited. They go 8-8 and just miss the playoffs. They get a middle to moderately high draft pick. They make no moves in draft to get a truly great talent (i.e. QB). They say they are very happy with current team. The Vikings play the next season is up and down……
This team only needs a high quality QB, a pass rushing DE, and a quality veteran WR to be opposite the up and coming Sidney Rice. And possibly one more CB. That is a team that goes 12-4 and contends for a Superbowl run. Still not the best team in the NFL, but has a chance to make a run. But just like the Twins, T-Wolves, etc., the free agent talent pool is a one way road that runs out of Minnesota.
Watching teams like NE, as soon as the seasons is over - they seem to be wheeling & dealing ,,, looking to improve ,, not happy with the ….
status quo
And I’m tired of the status quo. I say mortgage the future for a championship today!! 8-8 every year, limping into playoffs. Heck with that. Either dump the whole system and start over, or make the moves for today. I’ll take a hit in 4 years if I get a Superbowl win before I die!!
VQ - did you get your nap in?
Gunslinger - what would you call a truly great talent at QB in the draft? Eli? IMO he’s allright, nothing special. He went #1. Alex Smith? Also went #1, and he hasn’t shown anything yet. Philip Rivers? He went #4 - again, he’s all right, nothing special.
But, all of those guys were touted as the next superstar QB for their teams. My point is, you just don’t know who is a good QB till at least 3-4 years after then’re drafted. Look at McNabb - the fans booed Reid the day of the draft. Of course there are a exceptions, but it takes time for a QB to develop.
Is T-Jax the guy? Who knows. But, we certainly can’t say after 10 or 11 games that he is or isn’t.
Did anyone see Hank Baskett play last night? Just think the vikings had him for nothing and then traded him for worthless Billy McMuffin. Worst trade in the history of history!!!! 1 billion horribles!
Mortgaging the future ain’t gonna happen under Wilf. He already said he wants a team that will contend year in and year out. That kind of team is built through the draft. So, it will take time to get there. As long as we show improvement year-over-year, we will get there.
Jet - Got the nap in. Thursday, Friday, Saturday…you get the picture. I was a napping fool all weekend. That meant I didn’t go to sleep until 3:30 this morning. I’m an idiot.
Hank Baskett for MVP!!! If you had a 11 Hank Basketts on your team, you won’t even have to show up at the game, the other team would just forfiet.
Just think of Paul Allen mentioning “Hank Baskett fades to fire, he finds an open Hank Baskett, all set up by a nice block by Hank Baskett”. Ah, what a dream. Horribles all around.
Viking John observes that any rumor of a bounty on Favre would cause a huge ruckus, and that there are different standards for the Packers than for the rest of the league. He is correct, and I noted the proof in a posting last week. After the bounty rumors started, there was no mention of them on MNF or on any other broadcasts I monitored. Of course, I don’t catch them all, but as far as I can tell the issue wasn’t publicized much. But if it were the Patriots, for example, who were accused of such a crime, the talking heads would be screaming bloody murder. No, the Packers are treated differently, for sure. You nailed it, Viking John.
If could just clone Hank Baskett 10 times, that could probably work. I’ll have to see if I can get that fired up. Seems like a great idea. 11 Hank Basketts all working in unison. Shouldn’t be a problem.
Cloning a clue would be more appropriate.
Interesting discussion on this BUFFALO NY radio station.
They ar ehaving the same issues with JP LOSMAN not pannign out- -4 years into it.
The talk is scouting QBs earlier… even in HIGH SCHOOL .. seeing the gems, watching them develop, following them rather than some awesome COMBINE performance turning heads all the time .
Here is a brain buster for you: If Hank Baskett had a Baskett full of Hanks, what would he do? Hmm…..
I just don’t believe you can compare Jackson, a Div. II player, to drafting a high potential QB from a quality school. Of course nobody can tell the future if somebody will be good, but many scouts predicted Jackson would be nothing special. He couldn’t make the tough throws in college, how is he going to make them in the NFL. Yes, he was “efficient” yesterday. But it’s easy to be efficient when your team doesn’t need you to be anything special. Any QB in the league could of guilded the team to yesterdays victory. And the biggest different between the great QB’s that took time to develop, such as P. Manning or T. Aikman, is that those QB’s showed signs of promise now and again. What has Jackson truly done, ever, to show he could be that very solid QB in the NFL? 14 games for Jackson, 3 injuries, 3 TD passes this year. I’m just not seeing it, and I’m not the only one.
Well if I cloned a clue, I would probably have to start with one clue first and that’s just not possible. Dumb, you should of thought that before your post Viking Queen. wow. Wait, am I bashing myself?…damn.
VQ = on poker sites till 3:00 AM each night.
I have said from day 1 on these blogs I do not believe TJ will lead any team to the promise land.
He doesn’t have the gray matter.
He may run fast & jump high evern have some stellar days and shine; but between the ears give him 1,5,10 years - I don’t think he will make it as a caliber QB in this league
You want to know what our coach truly thinks about Jackson? We had the ball at about the 25 yard line with 2 minutes to go in the half. We ran up the middle three straight times to run out the clock, and then punted. How is that for confidence? Childress was more worried about Jackson making a mistake than putting our foot down on the Giants throat. Sure, it all worked out, but I was disappointed. I wanted to give Jackson the chance to show us something. I’d love it if he turned the corner right now and proved everybody wrong. But I need to see a whole lot more before I change my tune.
What about the “fined hit” on Favre by James or Udeze (Can’t remember which). Then in the Sports Illustrated, blown up to two pages, is the exact same play with Favre completely clear of hand, knee, leg or anything purple. The player was clearly sailing over his award winning performance.
Hey GunslingerCA: 5-2 as a starter…that’s all that matters….hahahahahahahahahhaahhhahahaha
Nope. But did watch a hell of a lot of football. Great college games this weekend.
Vikings Queen=Huge closet Hank Baskett lover. Face it.
TJ bailed out by the rest of the team
on the victories yes ?
jerkpepper = Freddy?
Scary same venacular.
Viking Queen + 10 Hank Baskett=one Hank Baskett short of a great team….wait, that wasn’t very good. I have got to work on my math. Horrible.
anyway gang ..

Jackson starting:
5-2 = Superbowl homeboy!!
My buddy was stating that yesterday. The only question left to answer is; will we be wearing our home purple or our away whites for the Superbowl?
Viking Queen=GPG? Same venacular.
eli - We win out.
You didn’t see Jackson make any good throws the last 2 weeks?
Again, my point is not that Jackson is or is not the guy because it is too early to tell.
Part of bringing along a young QB is not asking too much of him too soon. Since our running game is so strong right now, why should we ask him to throw 30 - 40 passes a week?
I agree that it would be nice if he had a better pedigree in college, but he didn’t, and he’s here now. The coaches saw something in him that they decided they need him.
And, whether we like it or not, if Jackson continues to play the rest of the year like he has the last 2 weeks, I think he will be the starting QB going into next year. We’ll probably look to bring in a solid veteran backup this offseason to help mentor him.
BTW - he wasn’t a Div. II player.
Man would that be cool ….
anything is possible
Viking Queen: Is that like the Queen of the Vikings?…that doesn’t make any sense. 1 million Horribles.
1-AA
I wonder who is the king of vikings? Hmm….I may have to think about that for awhile.
I was pretty disappointed in the way the 1st hald ended yesterday as well. Chili still doesn’t have a clue on how to manage the clock at the end of the 1st half or game.
the strategy makes sense ,, draft what ya think is a steller QB, followed by what ya think is a steller RB
and the rest (a-hem) falls into place.
a few more animal receivers that can make a play, take a ball away, anytime of day, (lol) and the purple will be
rockin and a rollin
PLUS a coach that knows how to find page 2 of the playbook and beyond
He wasn’t Div. II? Div. III? I’m no expert, but the experts have stated he was drafted WAY too high. But our coaches saw something in him. These same coaches didn’t see something in Peterson enough to make him the starter right away. We might have been 7-4 right now if he was. If most of the experts think Childress has made mistakes and Jackson isn’t the guy, I’m going with the majority. I also think there is a difference between asking a young QB to throw 30-40 times a game and asking him to throw 12 times a game and being too afraid to run a 2 minute offense. Like I said, I hope all the experts are wrong about Jackson. But so far, they’re right. You can crap in one hand and wish in the other and see which one fills up first.
Eli - worst case is 3-2 (IMO); best case = 5-0 (but a tad unlikely).
….. 1-AA
((King of the Vikings) + (Vikings Queen)) = ((Hank Baskett (to the eleventh power)+-15 horribles))+ (Andy Reid’s pants))) The answer is some random hairy fat dude….that’s the king of the vikings. Wow, I need to work on my math. 154 Horribles and 56 Terribles.
home game wins would be nice (3) , then grab a road game or 2 and voila !!
Those sound like bad bra sizes…
Damn faithful …
I wanna believe in this team, that they can string a few together ..
But I keep seeing visions of the packer game and other flounderings …
Anybody else here worried that this see saw season is about to go down this weekend? Maybe it’s just my 38 years of being a Viking fan, but I’m trying not to get too excited. I was a season ticket holder when I lived in MN, and this team likes to suck you in just in time to bury you. Man, that sounded pessimistic.
Same Here GUNS ..
well said they like to suck you in just in time to bury you.
I still wanna see the TIGHT END involved more in the gameplan.
A nice available weapon ; but might as well not exist on the purple.
I like the upcoming schedule for our blitz happy defense. Have you noticed we blitz everyone except experienced starting QB’s? We should be able to rattle enough QB’s to go at least 3-2, but we really need to be at least 4-1. Then we’re all 0-0 in the playoffs baby! Sorry, but this bi-polar disorder is really getting the best of me today.
Gunslinger-
Childress ran the ball up the middle at the end of the first half because the last two times he tried to score before the half he got burned badly.
jerkpepper - what if Hank Baskett also coached the team of 11 Hank Basketts? How many excellents would that get?
To get the TE involved, just watch film on what every team does to us. Voila! Done and done! Jackson should be able to make those quick throws to the TE. I also would prefer at least one screen pass a quarter. We gain at least 10 yards every time we run it. And one deep throw a quarter. Even if incomplete, it keeps the safety on his tows and keeps him from creeping up into the box to stop the run. Like the play fake yesterday for the deep TD. And I did notice that Jackson threw that ball perfectly. Early in the season that ball was being thrown too far outside.
Miami, that’s what I’m talking about. If you have enough confidence in the guy to start him at QB, you have to have enough confidence in him to try and get into field goal range. Not asking for an 80 yard drive, just 50 yards in 2 minutes for a field goal try.
Well if Hank Baskett was the coach of 11 Hank Basketts, then Hank Baskett would be the coach of the year, followed by superbowl champions, and probably pro-bowl champions.
There is no excellents, just Horribles and Terribles. It just varies on the amount based on the situation.
Q: How many times does Jackson have to get hit from behind and fumble before he learns to not hold the ball forever?
A: We don’t know, we’re still counting.
Even better, what if Hank Baskett the coach had 21 Hank Baskett assistant coaches, and had 11 Hank Basketts on the team???
Q: How many times are we going to have to read mindless posts.
A: What do I look like GunslingerCA?
Q: How many times does Jackson have to get hit from behind and fumble before he learns to not hold the ball forever?

pocket sense, gray matter, he is lacking
Well if you do the math: 21 Hank Baskett assistants + 1 Hank Baskett Coach + 11 Hank Baskett Team=Superbowl victory, coach of the year, probowl victory, and a Hank Baskett coaching tree that rivals Bill Walsh.
Q: How do you properly store a machete under your bed?
A: What do I look like, a former football player from University of Miami?
Wait a minute, jerkpepper is calling me mindless? I guess he ran out of Hank Baskett scenarios. (rolling my eyes)
Gunslinger, on your comment from above, I totally agree with you regarding Childress’ overly conservative play calling at the end of the first half. Reminded me of a guy named DeKnee Green.
Q: How do you take a dump in a girlfriend’s laundry basket?
A: What do I look like, a former football player from the University of Miami?
GunslingerCA: Wrong, I will NEVER run out of Hank Baskett scenarios. Eat that.

GunslinderCA: Another day at the loser factory treating you good?
Mr. VQ decides to make dinner tonight. He asks that I come in there and keep an eye on things while he goes and gets milk.
I go in the kitchen, he’s boiling water. Well, it hasn’t started boiling yet. “Here’s the spaghetti and the sauce is in the jars over there.”
Wow, thanks for making dinner…
Vikings Queen: That was a good trick on his part. “say” he is going to make dinner then leave so you can make it. You deserve better!!!

Hey all! I’ve never posted here but am a die-hard Vikings fan that lives in Texas for a few more months. I grew up in Bemidji so I do bleeeeeeeeeed Purple. Keep posting and keep the hope alive!!!!
Hope springs eternal…
Obviously all of you QB experts who are convinced T-Jax is not a QB are getting calls from college and NFL teams because they see how much more you know than they and thus they need you to straighten them out and lead them to the promised land in talent aquisition.
BTW When the Vikings drafted Fran Tarkenton out of Georgia they were the laughing stock of the NFL cause all of the “Experts” knew he was too small and too nice (A minister’s son) to play in the NFL, Joe Montana was a a 3rd rounder and NO ONE thought he would be a started much less a Star,, Steve McNair played in the same league as T-Jax, the NFL didn’t even draft Kurt Warner Tom Brady wasn’t even considered the best QB in Michigan, Mark Brunnell platooned at Washington with Billy Jo Hobert, Hobert was drafted ahead of him, the list goes on and on,,,,,MR. EXPERTS
I stand by my statements that TJ will not cut it as a caliber NFL QB
he may be athletic, he may run fast and jump high; but between the ears, the pocket sense, the ability to look off defenders and hit the open guy, the
quick decision-making skills, the savvy to read a defense and make the correct read, to know when to stay in the pocket or take off, to know when to throw the ball away .. i don’t think he has the gray matter skills to lead any team to the promise land.
I want him to prove all us doubters wrong.
name 5 quarterbacks who were as good at making decisions in their first 10 games of their career as they were 30 games into their career,,,,come on,,,name 5. all of the things you are talking about are “Learned Skills”
I don’t believe all of the skills are learned skills.
You have to come in with something.
Time tells mr vikson.
Time will tell.
I say TJ is out of the league in a few years
One of the reasons Tamba Bay decided Steve Young was a bust was because they didn;t think he could evenr become a passing QB, he would always look to run first,,,,look what happened, he became a hall of famer,,, think Tamba Bay would like that decision back?,,,Atlanta let go of Favre because they thought Billy Jo Tolliver was a smarter QB,,,hmmmmm did they make the right choice,,,,,example after example,,,, I’m not a hoo rah rah T-Jax fan, but I’m smart enough to admit I’m not smart enough to be able to determine he IS NOT an NFL QB based on part of a season, and the fact that his teammates are behind him is half the battle
and again as we all know — much of it is the talent that surrounds you.
he will shine because of AP and others; but in the long run not cut it i do not believe.
just my opinion as we all have.
MR EXPERTS
a QB isn’t always gonna be successful within a given team / scheme
we will see if TJ fits the purple mode
time will indeed tell.
vikson= wanna be something- just hopefully not something in football … because pal you are an idiot in that arena.
FIRE CHILDRESS NOW !!!!!!
I would like to see a list of divison
1-AA QBs who led their teams to
superbowl victories.
the pocket sense comes with time as well, it is the biggest drawback for QB’s that come from lower tier leagues, They have trouble adjusting to 300 pound guys being that fast, in the lower college leagues the 300 pound guys are slow, it is a timing adjustment one that many many QB’s had to go through in their younger days. it IS learned,,,now granted, there are a few gifted,,,key word is “FEW” QB’s who have a sixth sense from birth and can almost see out the back of their head,,,Fran Tarkenton was one such QB, you watch film on him,,,he stops on a dime to make a defender behind him miss,, it was uncanny, but,,, FEW have that natural instinct, the rest leanr timing, count 3, 4, 5 seconds get rid of the ball,,,, it takes a different amount of time for all of them
Agree with you JCV on the lacklustre end of first half. You have reasonable field position and about 50 seconds left. Why not take a shot?
From Chili’s viewpoint he’s delighted to take a 24-7 lead into locker room. But why not press the advantage. Even if wildly unsuccessful at least you let the Giant know there’s more pressure to come. This was the offense opportunity to run wild, throw deep, whatever. At that point Vike hadn’t thrown a completion to Shiancoe which would have been my call.
Maybe you fumble or you throw an intercept. Low probabilty althought its possible. But a turnover wouldn’t be fatal and I was disappointed with taking a knee
And Bombman7 welcome to the blog. At least you’re not from Montana
eli, I am sure vikdaughter is”smart enough to admit I’m not smart enough” to get that list or create one for you…
FIRE CHILDRESS NOW !!!!!!!!!

CHILI
Zygi’s Zero ?, Less than Les ?
(lol)
QB’s count 3-4-5 in their head? WHAT?? vikdaughter it’s a progression of reads based on the depth of the drop not a 1-2-3-4-5-oh crap I should throw the ball no wait I was on 2 or 3 oh let me start over counting 1-2-3…. brother… get a clue….
FIRE CHILDRESS NOW !!!!!
priceless
vikdaughter = needs a football basic for dummies (remidial edition) book…
FIRE CHILDRESS NOW !!!!!!!
I’ve missed Buster…
“hi, My name is TJack and today we will learn to count to 5 in the pocket… ok ready? …..”
FIRE CHILDRESS NOW !!!!!!!
Does anyone know if TARVARIS had a
chance to play for a division 1-A school ?
Was anyone interested in him at that level ? or were divsion 1-AA schools and below the takers for his talents ?
TJack goes back to pass, he puts on his counting glove… one thousand one one thousand two ….. no wait he put on his three step drop glove on a five step drop back…. oh what to do??
FIRE CHILDRESS NOW !!!!!!
Buster your only proven football knowledge is the ability to FIRE someone what other basic needs of football DO you know? and it is a good point, the list of 1AA QB’s who have succeeded in the NFL is short, but then the list of any position from 1AA to succeed is short, Walter Peyton and Jerry Rice were anomalies,,,(Buster, Anomolies are thing that aren’t normal) and yes QB’s do count down, in the sense that they are taught to have a clock in their head that tells them time is up,,,get rid of the ball, the reads are just part of it,
eli, I think he was at Arkansas but transferred because he couldn’t beat out Matt Jones at QB… You know the same Matt Jones who wasn’t good enough at QB and now is a WR (kind of) for Jacksonville…
FIRE CHILDRESS NOW !!!!!!!
many things are possible
I would think if TJ was a big talent, a 1-A school would have scooped his ASS up early on.
time tells how the young man fares in the purple.
Tarvaris started out at Arkansas and transferred because the starting QB was can’t remember his name, he is a WR in the NFL now, so Jackson transferred to Ala. State because it was in his home town and he was able to play right away
Football has needs??? hmmmmm that’s gay…. ahh vikdaughter you said THEY COUNT….. that’s not the same thing as it being 2nd nature like it needs to be at ANY LEVEL…..
FIRE CHILDRESS NOW !!!!!!!!!
DAMMIT then
lets get rid of em all except
ADRIAN and start fresh ! !!!!!!
Buster when you say more than FIRE CHILDRESS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! who does the typing for you?

FIRE THE GUY THAT WORKS AT THE COUNTER AT THE UNEMPLOYMENT OFFICE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!,,,,, YOU KNOW THE GUY,,,RIGHT BUSTER????
as someone mentioned yesterday
Mr. Jackson better get a clue on when
to slide so he doesn’t end up with his
ass on backwards. a matter of time
Thanks Eli (lol)
I agree. Jackson looked calm and confident yesterday. Much better than he looked in the Dallas game. Big difference. But, as you said, he better slide EVERYTIME or he is going to go down for the count again.
as Fargo, Bones, Buster and I have pointed out many times in this TJ debate……..Childress left the Vikes without a capable QB to “win now” with his decisions…..these lost games and losing seasons are on his shoulders, not TJ’s!
now ELI you ARE ON TO IT, FINALLY SOMEONE GETS IT,, T-Jax worst enemy is himself, he wants to bowl over people and he will learn not to only if he survives,,, legitimate beef on Jackson,,he,,,like all QB’s has to learn to stay out of harms way,,,that will knock him out of football sooner than a coach giving up on him, That is what shortened Jim McMahon’s career
Gotta go, take care Viking comrades.
you can win with a bad QB if you have a GREAT defense (run and pass) look at what Chicago did a year ago,,lousy QB but defense and special teams got it done
I am waiting for the MUD BOWL to start
come on FISH notch a “W” against the
steel men (lol)
I don’t think the vikes have enough BIG PLAYMAKERS to make the world start shakin …
receivers . uhhh nothing too special.
need some animals, big, strong, that can work the middle, dish some punishment, make a play if double covered, animals I say !
damn tight end — gotta integrate that weapon in the offense. don’t understand the logic
1 amazing A.P. and C.T and a few so so others cannot do it all ..
HELP WEANTED — playmakers
The Pioneer Press is reporting Wilf has Given the Chilly the thumbs up through the 2008 season.
Say it ain’t so Zygi, Ladies and Gentelmen this November 26th 2007, May go down in infamy as one of the darkest days in Minnesota Vikings History!

Ricky W. gonna play 2nite ?
puttin down the lettuce for awhile has he ? god bless him
ROCK & ROLL faithful

or 2 or 3 fot tonights mudbath
go vikes !
Gosh, there should be some way for Ricky William’s legion of fan to recognize his return to the NFL. Maybe we could turn on a light or something?
Not a Viking fan am I (obviously) but I had this thought pop to mind concerning 1/2 day Peterson.
That is, if the goal is to make the bottom scum rung of playoff teams (often referred to derisively as the the “Wild Card” teams)I think the Vikes can beat Detroit and the remaining (relatively) weak teams and gain that Wild Card spot.
Then keep Peterson ready to play if any of those games gets too close but don’t use him unless absolutely necessary. He IS the Viking future and to lose him on this last ditch effort to gain a playoff spot, especially when that effort may be a long shot in the first place, would be just another black mark on this long cursed team. Let Peterson ride the pines this year, and he’ll pay this team back in spades next year, and that’s from a die-hard Viking despiser !!
boy, quite the sloppy mess in Pittsburgh…
Ricky Williams better go practice some more
I think it’s just terrific that so many people in the sports world — commentators, bloggers, etc. — know so much about medicine.
I mean, I think it’s fantastic that all these folks are able to determine that the doctors that advising Adrian Peterson and the Vikings are completely clueless. Those crazy doctors have evidently said that Adrian’s ligament is healing splendidly and that playing on it does not risk additional injury any more than playing without an injury at all. However, obviously those doctors are all liars and/or stupid because it is plainly clear to all the commentators and bloggers that Adrian should absolutely, definitely not play again this season.
Why are the real doctors so freaking stupid?
And Ricky Williams just got a bruised elbow or something. I think they should definitely keep him off the field until next season.
i know it wasn’t our offense that won the game for us in the end, but they gave the team a spark with that 60 yarder on the second play.(we need to do more of that more often) the defense played great we need to keep blitzing and getting to the qb so we can get turnovers, its the only way, our corners aren’t good enough. we can’t rush AD back, only bring him in if 100% necessary. GO VIKES!
why the hate on T-Jack? he is 5-2 and has done basically everything we have asked of him. he can throw the deep ball, the slant, convert on third down, he is practically a rookie. if we go under .500 the rest of the way and it has anything to do with t-jack then he is not the answer but for now he is putting up the W’s
AP-AD,
TJax was WAY out of his element in the early games…he was playing very poorly, horrible stats…couldn’t hit anything more than a 5 yard pass. Now, having said that, yes he is young and he needs time to develop (or at least see if he will..), the last two games he has performed much better. Now, he just needs to keep improving or we must look for another option next year.
He really does look like he is playing more relaxed now…time will tell!
On another note, I am one that says sit AD unless he is truly 100%…absolutely no need to rush him back…for what???
PLAYOFFS? PLAYOFFS?
This guy just threw his third T.D. of SEASON! Other Qb’s throwing 5 in a half. We can’t waste another year trying to make this a Trent Dilfer-maybe if he just doesn’t mess up- qb lead team.
Monc! Is it really you?? We’ve missed Late Night.
no wonder Miami is 0-10. should’ve tried the FG again…
EAGLES PUT HIGH PRICE ON McNABB
Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the Philadelphia Eagles were contacted before the trade deadline regarding the availability of quarterback Donovan McNabb.
And the requested price was not one, not two, but three first-round draft picks.
Whether the price remains that high after the 2007 season remains to be seen. If it is, McNabb won’t be traded.
Our guess is that the Eagles are aiming high in the hopes of getting the most they can. And, as the PFTV guys discuss below, the Eagles can’t afford to appear interested in moving McNabb, or they’ll have no leverage.
The smartest move for the Eagles, in our view, is to auction him off in the offseason, and to take the best deal they can get.
I have to say that I think the giants game was well done… Great job moving the D around Mr. Frazier. That is exactly what I want to see. And A good job to Tarvaris… With the exception of the fumble..Over all a good game… Some things to work on though are McCaully He should have been flagged for p@ss interference atleast 3 times.. Coach needs to jump him and tell him to get that head around. You know your not looking for the ball when it hits you squarly in the back of the head. I like the Idea of bringing adrian back slowly. You dont want him to lose his game conditioning but you dont want to expose him to too many hits or over working that ligment too much.. But getting him out on the field will do two things. It will make the lions D-Account for him..Even if he does not get the carry and it will help him stay conditioned. I think having him carry more than 5-10 times would be a mistake though.. Maybe in for 15-20 plays. And for goodness sake keep him off special teams. Normally I would give my advise as to what I think the vikings should do the next game… But this time All I will say is do what you did versus the giants.. You will want to be a little more physical with the detroit receivers though. You have 5 yards to be on the receivers like a fat kid on a candy bar .. take advantage of that. You dont want to give roy williams or calvin johnson clean routes. kitna is much better under duress than manning is. So you need to attack the receivers get them ticked off, get their mind going. Blitz, but not as much as Vs. the giants. Work on coverage. clog the middle of the field up.. Oh I also wanted to say that sharper and smith finally stepped up…Good to see I was a little worried that they were losing it.
i agree centex, he can’t take any steps backwards or else a qb in the draft or free agency is very necessary. these last 5 games are critical for T-Jack, although if chilli is our coach next yr then no matter what he will probably stay starter.
key to winning against the lions:
1. pressure kitna.
2. no 3 and outs
3. if we get across the 50 we must get atleast a field goal, inside 20, touchdown.
4. can’t waste any oppurtunities, no leas is big enough.(unless u r the pats of course)
Yep AP,
According to the Pioneer…Wilf stated yesterday after that win that Chilidog will be retained through ‘08…
All we can do now is hope that he is changing his ways some and that TJax continues to show improvement.
It might be deja vu all over again in ‘08
lead*
i hope not, although we could easily have 2 more wins, but yea no repeats of the last 2-3 yrs. lets get back to 15-1 and draft another moss this yr, why did we let him go?
New post………………………….
[…] Purple Jesus likely to return on Sunday The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that Vikings star rookie RB Adrian Peterson is expected to practice this week and “if all goes well” will play Sunday against the Lions…. Both Jesse Chatman and Ricky Williams were knocked out of action with apparent arm/shoulder injuries during the utterly hideous Monday night debacle, leaving Patrick Cobbs as the only healthy Miami RB by game’s end…. The Baltimore Sun suggests that Ravens TE Todd Heap could miss the remainder of the season with the hamstring injury that’s kept him out of five of the team’s past seven games. Make sure you have other options if you’re heading into your fantasy league’s playoffs with Heap on your roster…. Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan confirmed yesterday that RB Andre Hall suffered a high ankle sprain on Sunday. Right now, it looks as if there’s a good chance Hall will miss this week’s game…. A CAT scan taken on Rams QB Marc Bulger came back negative Monday, giving him a decent shot to start this Sunday against the Falcons…. Bills coach Dick Jauron revealed yesterday that RB Anthony Thomas suffered a strained calf strain on Sunday against the Jaguars. With Marshawn Lynch doubtful for Sunday’s game at Washington, Dwayne Wright and Fred Jackson could end up sharing the backfield workload if Thomas isn’t ready to go. […]
Play Chucky Cheese. How can anyone hurt an rb who runs 2′ off the ground. The guy’s overrated anyway, particularly with that night of the Living Dead he runs behind, baldman Childress could get 4 yards per. But whatever, they do, Peterson rides the pines since even if they make the long shot, loooooooooong shot that they make the playoffs, they will be crushed by even the lowest ranked division champ on the road being a candy butt team that can’t play outdoors. So, save Peterson. Who else do you have as a bonafide football player. Phat Williams ? one more year left at best til he grabs his chest…
